Training is not required and you do not need any mental health experience to use the Columbia Protocol, however, training is helpful and some options to access training follow.
Options for Training on the Columbia tools
The Columbia Lighthouse Project offers numerous free training options in more than 20 languages. The shortest training takes about 20 minutes, and almost all of them can be completed within an hour. Trainings are not setting specific. Choose the method that works best for you.

Interactive Training Module

To meet the extraordinary demand, Dr. Ornish and his colleagues partnered with Sharecare to train and certify hospitals, health systems, and physician groups nationwide. The Ornish Reversal Program – Intensive Cardiac Rehabilitation (ICR) location network is growing rapidly, including national partnerships with Medicare and many health. You can access an on-line training module created by the Center for Practice Innovation (CPI) here. (Note: If you are not a registered NY clinician you will not be able to complete the post-test and get a certificate using this method. However, you may download a certificate of learning here).

Watch a webinar on your own schedule by going to the Project’s YouTube channel and selecting an archived webinar. They are available in 30 languages, and are less than an hour long.

- Register and log onto the training campus portal. (Please use the Firefox web browser or you could experience a security error)
- Click on “My Activities.”
- Under “Available Curricula,” select “Enroll Now” for the training module RFMH-Z01 training module for the screener or one of the training modules for the full scale.
- Under “Active Curricula,” click on the training module you enrolled in to expand the view, and then select the hyperlinked module name to load it.
- After viewing the training module, close the window and complete the case study questions to receive a certificate.

Participate in a Live Webinar

Video Downloads
Download training videos to view on your computer and to copy or burn onto flash drives or CD-ROMs for sharing and group training. There is no limit on the number of downloads and you may embed them in your current training system. The Project provides videos for training in more than 30 languages. For English language training on the full and screener scales click on this link, and then click on the “download” button in the upper-right corner to download it to your desktop (do not try to watch the video within the dropbox it will end early). A video training on just the shorter C-SSRS screener is also available if you Click on this link. For training in foreign languages look in this folder, select the language you desire and download the training by clicking on the “download” button in the upper right hand corner.

CD-ROMs
Online training and video downloads are the preferred options, but the Project is happy to mail you a training CD-ROM if necessary. We can provide one per language. Please contact us with your name, mailing address and country, phone number, and desired training language. The Project uses FedEx to provide timely shipments, but please allow for time to process your request.

In-person Training
In certain circumstances it may be possible to provide a training in your location. These usually run 90 min and are not limited in terms of the number of people who can attend. Travel reimbursement is not required but welcomed. Please contact us for more details.
