GTA IV PC Download & Installation Instructions (Patch 1.0.4.0 & Razor Crack) 2-25-2013: Okay guys, I have completed over 85% of this wonderful game since downloading it in December 2012. Now, for those that don't know, just completing all of the missions (a feat in of itself!) means you've ONLY completed 60% of the game! To complete %100 of this game means you have to complete a lot of other 'side missions', races, car thefts; etc. Anyway, my goal is to get 100% completion at the end of this weekend! Now, with that said, I took the unusual (for me) risk to upgrade my game from 1.0.3.0 to 1.0.4.0, and got it to work perfectly without losing my percent completion! Oh, and I found a way to generate a working serial number, so now I can actually play Multiplayer online as well!! However, in order to play online, you’ll have to allow Games for Windows – Live to update your GTA IV to version 1.0.7.0., so if you have installed mods and/or trainers on your game, you’ll lose them with the update. I have also included detailed instructions on how to update and get playing Multiplayer online. Updating to 1.0.4.0 I’m providing this link to the GTAIV_Patch_1040 + Crack Razor1911 (https://www.dropbox.com/sh/uuiu482dlsjzgoh/SRAamIU-AW) folder in my personal DropBox that contains the following: 1. 2. 3. 4.
The 1.0.4.0 patch file called GTAIV_MAINTENANCE_UPDATE_1040_EFIGS.exe Grand Theft Auto IV Download & Install Instructions (Patch 1.0.4.0 & Razor Crack).doc Optimizing GTA IV for use with Intel HD Graphics GPU.doc Inside the Crack_Razor1911 folder are the following crack files: a. 1911.dll b. LaunchGTAIV.exe c. xlive.dll d. xlive_d.dll e. xlive_readme.txt
As you can see, I’ve included two documents, Grand Theft Auto IV Download & Install Instructions (Patch 1.0.4.0 & Razor Crack).doc (this one) and Optimizing GTA IV for use with Intel HD Graphics GPU.doc that you will most definitely find very helpful! Just because these files are for version 1.0.4.0, you can use these two documents for step-by-step instructions for installing the game, and updating it to any version you want. If you are only updating to version 1.0.4.0, then simply run the GTAIV_MAINTENANCE_UPDATE_1040_EFIGS.exe after installing the game per Steps 1 thru 6 below. IMPORTANT: DON’T OPEN or TRY TO START GTA IV BEFORE INSTALLING THE PATCH & CRACK! Next, copy the crack files 1911.dll, LaunchGTAIV.exe, and xlive.dll located inside the Crack_Razor1911 folder, and paste them to the game’s root folder, which is called Grand Theft Auto IV, usually located at C:Program Files (x86)Rockstar GamesGrand Theft Auto IV for Windows 7 users. If you want to update to a version higher than 1.0.4.0 (Windows 8 Users & all those who want to play Multiplayer online need to use 1.0.7.0), then just follow all my steps below. Enjoy!
Steps to install GTA IV game: 1. Download and install the game from https://kat.ph/gta-iv-pc-version-rwt007t719627.html. Guys, please don't forget to SEED this great torrent, so other's can get it, as it does take time to download!! After the download is complete, you’ll find two (2) .iso files inside the folder called GTA IV DVD 1.iso and GTA IV DVD 2.iso. You MUST already have installed on your computer a virtual drive software, such as Power ISO or DAEMON Tools Lite, in order to run (mount) these two files. 2. Mount GTA IV DVD 1.iso with Power ISO or DAEMON Tools Lite (both are freeware), then find and open the file called ReadMe.txt located in the game’s Grand Theft Auto IV folder (for Windows 7, at C:Program Files (x86)Rockstar Games directory) which will give 10 steps on how to install. If you don't know how to use a virtual harddrive software such as Power ISO or DAEMON Tools Lite, you'll not be able to properly install this game ! 3. Follow the installation steps 1 through 8 in the ReadMe.txt file. Step 4 says you’ll be prompt to sign up for “Games for Windows – Live Account”. You can either ignore this, if you don’t want to play online Multiplayer. Otherwise, create the account. 4. Make sure you sign up for your Rockstar Games Social Club account in Step 5. Ignoring this step will cause the game not to work!!! 5. IMPORTANT!!! Ignore the 9th and 10th step of the Readme.txt installation instructions, as you won’t ever need to use any disc to run GTA IV after installing patch & crack. 6. During installation, when it prompts you for DVD #2, you’ll just unmount GTA IV DVD 1.iso and then mount GTA IV DVD 2.iso. You’ll have to remount GTA IV DVD 1.iso at the end to finish the installation. Again, DO NOT DO STEPS 9 & 10!! 7. IMPORTANT!!! DON’T OPEN or TRY TO START GTA IV BEFORE INSTALLING PATCH 1.0.4.0 & CRACK! 8. Download all patch versions and crack files from https://kat.ph/gta-iv-all-patches-crack-xlivedll-fix-t5701568.html. You can select any patch version you want, and follow the next steps. 9. The patches & crack files will be downloaded in a main folder called GTA IV ALL PATCHES + CRACK + XLIVE DLL FIX, and inside that folder you’ll find other folders called Crack + Xlive DLL, GTAIV_Patch_1060, and GTAIV_Patch_1070. 10. Install (run) the desired patch of your choice. You’ll find patches 1010 thru 1050, in the GTA IV ALL PATCHES + CRACK + XLIVE DLL FIX folder. NOTE: you don't have to install any previous versions patches in order to upgrade to the version you want. For example, after downloading and installing the basic GTA IV game, if you want to upgrade to version 1.0.5.0, you don't have to install the patches for 1.0.1.0 thru 1.0.4.0 prior to patch 1.0.5.0 11. After patch is installed, copy the three crack files called 1911.dll, LaunchGTAIV.exe, and xlive.dll located in the Crack + Xlive DLL folder to the game’s installation root folder called Grand Theft Auto IV (ex. C:Program Files (x86)Rockstar GamesGrand Theft Auto IV is my laptop’s directory for the game). 12. Do NOT copy the GTAIV.exe file located in the Crack + Xlive DLL folder unless you are using patch 1.0.7.0. That file is ONLY for that patch. The other patches (1010 thru 1050) will update the GTAIV.exe file to the proper version. 13. Next, go to the installation folder and right-click on the cracked LaunchGTAIV.exe file that you just pasted into your game’s root folder, NOT the GTAIV.exe file, and create a shortcut of it to your desktop. 14. When you want to play GTAIV, just click on the LaunchGTAIV.exe desktop shortcut. There you go Folks, problems have been solved! BTW, you should have a very fast & powerful computer processor (Intel core i-series), with plenty of high-speed CPU RAM (8 GB), and a Video Display driver that has a minimum of 1024 Mb of “dedicated RAM”, so you can have the best experience. If you experience any “camera shaking” during the game, it’s most likely that you
started the game by clicking on the GTAIV.exe file, instead of the desktop shortcut made for the LaunchGTAIV.exe file (read above instructions). NOTE: This is for the gamers that decide not to upgrade to version 1.0.7.0. I reiterate that the torrent's author where you downloaded the patches from didn't inform everyone that you do NOT replace the game's GTAIV.exe file with the one downloaded from his site , unless you upgrade all the way to version 1.0.7.0, as that's the version of the GTAIV.exe file downloaded inside the folder called Crack + Xlive DLL. So, DO NOT replace the GTAIV.exe file in your game unless you've upgraded to version 1.0.7.0!!! Otherwise, you’ll get an error. Whatever version patch (before 1.0.7.0) you decided to run will upgrade the GTAIV.exe file to that version. Therefore, the ONLY files you use in the Crack + Xlive DLL folder are 1911.dll, LaunchGTAIV.exe, and xlive.dll. Put those three files in the root folder for the game called Grand Theft Auto IV. Oh, and I once again reiterate, you don't have to install any previous versions patches in order to upgrade to the version you want. Rockstar made sure all patches included the previous patches. So, just install the version patch you want! I’ve already been playing GTA IV at one version, so how do I update it to a higher version, and to be able to play online? Great question! First of all, ALWAYS make a backup of your game!!! Well, I originally downloaded GTA IV and used patch & crack version 1.0.3.0, and was playing it as Single-Player all this time! I recently decided to update to version 1.0.4.0, so I just ran the patch for version 1.0.4.0, then copied and pasted the crack files in the game’s root folder, but I didn’t replace the cracked version 1.0.3.0 of the xlive.dll file with the downloaded version (I mistakenly thought all cracked xlive.dll files were the same), and a funny thing happened!! I started the game, and after a new & different Razor 1911 logo flashed on my screen, I got the Rockstar Games Social Club account login window. Now, if I’m not connected to the internet, I would click “Skip login”, and another Rockstar Games Social Club window appears stating in the upper right corner “You are not logged in”, and then I clicked the “PLAY” button in the lower left, which brings up another window stating “You are not currently logged into Social Club. Login to Social Club required to access online multiplayer and video uploading to Social Club TV.” Since I wasn’t interested in multiplayer mode, I then clicked the “OK” button. This brings up the Razor 1911 logo, again, and another Rockstar Games Social Club window stating “The Rockstar Games Social Club application is still running. To open the application, right-click the icon in the system tray”, where I clicked the “Ok” button in the lower right. Now the game starts and I get a totally different start window that has a gorgeous bigbreasted Gracie (character in GTA IV) with “Featured Clips in Rockstar Social Club” panel showing! Wow!! And I’m not even connected to the internet! Oh, and if you didn’t create your “Games for Windows – Live” account during the initial install of the game, you are prompted with the option to create an “offline account”, if you want. I created one for “ChopperBob57”. Well, next comes the scary part!! I then click the game’s “Start” button and instead of loading my last saved mission (which I’ve completed all of the main missions!), it starts with a brand new game!!! Oh no!!! It starts from the very beginning with the intro story and “The Cousins Bellic” mission!!! I’m thinking, “Thank GOD I made a backup of my game!!” Well, I continue with the game to see if it works, and it does. I then go to the game’s Options Menu and try to load my previous saved missions, but there are none to load. After a few moments of panic, and thinking I’ll have to reinstall my backed up copy of GTA IV (which takes 45 minutes!), I played the first nine missions, saving them after each completion. I then search to where the game is now saving the missions to on my computer, and find the location at C:Users[User Name]AppDataLocalRockstar GamesGTA IVsavegames, instead of where the cracked Single Player game saves, which is at C:Users[User Name]DocumentsRockstar
GamesGTA IVsavegames. I also discovered that it now has created a new folder inside the “savegames” folder called “user_e0000088edf008b7”, where it was saving the games that my ChopperBob57 username had been playing, as I noticed the nine missions were saved there. I then tried copying my saved mission files from C:Users[User Name]DocumentsRockstar GamesGTA IVsavegames folder to the “user_e0000088edf008b7” folder, but for some reason the game “could not find” the mission games on my hard drive. I still have to figure that out! Anyway, during all this, it hit me that I didn’t replace the xlive.dll file when pasting the crack files. I quit the game, replaced the xlive.dll file with the one I’ve included inside the Crack_Razor1911 folder, and this time there was no Rockstar Games Social Club windows, which meant no online Multiplayer mode, and no big-breasted Gracie on the startup, but it did load my last saved mission! And when I went to the game’s Option Menu, all of my last 12 saved missions were there!!! Whew!! But I was disappointed that I was stuck in Single-Player mode, so I did an experiment. After quitting the game, I decided to artificially “turn off” the xlive.dll file that I had replaced by renaming it to xlive_off.dll, and then I started GTA IV, but this time I logged into my Rockstar Games Social Club account when prompted with internet connection. This time a different Rockstar Games Social Club window appears prompting me to “Link your Gamertag with Social Club”, explaining that “By linking your Gamertag to your Social Club account, you can track in-game stats, Achievements, leaderboards, and more, directly from the Rockstar Games Social Club portal.” The most important statement was, “*Social Club account required for online multiplayer and video uploads ”, which I wanted to see if I could do online multiplayer mode, so I linked it. That opened up a Windows Internet Explorer window at http://support.rockstargames.com/categories/10262-social-club, and the Rockstar Games Social Club window for playing GTA IV, which now showed me logged in as ChopperBob57. I then clicked the “PLAY” button. Sadly, this time, instead of big-breasted Gracie appearing in the Start window, it was Packie! Oh well... I then clicked “Start”. The game started by loading the last mission saved as ChopperBob57, which was “Ivan The Not So Terrible”. Well, I had no idea how to play the multiplayer mode, so I googled it and found a great site explaining it at http://www.gta4.net/multiplayer/. The four simple steps to access multiplayer are as follows: To jump into a multiplayer match, you need to have the cellphone. (The cell, however, is given to you very early in the storyline, so this shouldn't be a problem.) To jump into multiplayer, do the following: 1. 2. 3. 4.
Bring up your mobile phone. Access the cellphone menu. Scroll down to Multiplayer. Enter the Multiplayer submenu, at which point you can access multiplayer matches, customize your character or view a multiplayer tutorial.
The multiplayer tutorial will give you all of the information you need to know to jump into multiplayer games, and is a great way to introduce yourself to the dynamics of multiplayer Grand Theft Auto.
Okay, I was able to access the multiplayer mode, but only for LAN, not LIVE, even though I do have a Games for Windows – Live account, as when I selected LIVE on the cell phone, it said “You must be logged into Games for Windows – Live to access Multiplayer”. So I went to the game’s Options Menu, selected “Game”, then selected “Games for Windows – Live”, where it showed I was signed in as ChopperBob57, and then clicked “Show Games”, where it listed my one game as “GTA IV PC”, with no Achievements. I then clicked “Join Live”, where it minimized the GTA IV game, and opened Windows Internet Explorer to http://www.live.xbox.com (it warns you that the game will be minimized), and then I signed into my Live.Xbox account, but when I restored the game from minimize, it now showed a window prompting me to enter the serial code for the game. Well, because I didn’t have a
serial key code, I couldn’t connect to the LIVE mode of multiplayer, so no “online searching” for multiplayer games on Games for Windows – Live. UPDATE 2-28-2013: Great news!! I just found a YouTube video at http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xrg0s7_gta-iv-keygen_videogames posted by anonimas321123, which shows the step-by-step instructions for using a Key Generator to create a valid serial key for GTA IV. It works!! However, you’ll have to be very patient and create/register accounts for these three sites: Rockstar Games Social Club, Games for Windows – Live, and live.xbox.com, which I had already done (and so should you), when I first installed the game. So, since I already had those three accounts, I downloaded the zip file called GTAIVhack.zip from the site he posted below his YouTube video at http://adf.ly/DJmsU and unzipped it using my 7-Zip. BTW, I have a 4share.com account, so I just clicked on the “Free Download” to download GTAIVhack.zip. A folder called “gta iv keygen+other stuff” is created, and inside it are several folders, but the folder to open is called “keygen GFWL by alexis221515”. Open it and you’ll find two files called xox.reg and keygen GFWL by alexis221515.exe. The first file, xox.reg, is a registry file that will generate a set of registry keys into your computer (as the commercially bought GTA IV game would do during installation), and the second file, keygen GFWL by alexis221515.exe, is the Key Generator. UPDATE 3-1-2013: First of all, even though he tells you in the video to update GTA IV to version 1.0.7.0, you do NOT have to do it at that time, as later on when you enter your generated serial number, Games for Windows – Live will give a prompt stating there is an update for it, and that you must accept the update if you want to play online. More about this, later... As shown in his YouTube video, you must right-click on the xox.reg file and select “Merge”, then select “OK”, to allow it to create the necessary registry keys. Next, right-click on the keygen GFWL by alexis221515.exe file and select “Run as administrator”, which starts the Key Generator, and then click the button labeled “Generar serial”, as shown in the video. It will create a serial number, which you should copy and paste in a word document, and printed it out so you can enter it after starting the game. Then enter the serial number as he demonstrates in his video, and VOILA!!! It works!!!! However, I must warn all Gamers who want to keep their version 1.0.4.0, that once you enter the generated serial number, Games for Windows – Live will give a prompt stating there is an update for it,
and that you must accept the update if you want to play online. Now, since I don’t have any mods and/or trainers installed in my version 1.0.4.0, I wasn’t worried, so I went ahead and clicked OK to accept the update.
Well, it updated the game to version 1.0.7.0, as when I right-clicked on the GTAIV.exe file, and clicked on Properties > Details, it now showed that version! So, beware of this. Another thing I found that the updating does is that it states, “Rockstar Games Social Club Application is no longer required to run Grand Theft Auto IV”, which is an outright lie!!!
I clicked the red “x” to close that window to not have it remove Rockstar Games Social Club (RGSC), but it removed it anyway, and because it removed RGSC, you can no longer start GTA IV through the RGSC Launch Window as shown in the video; therefore, you’re not logged into RGSC when you start GTA IV.
It’s very important to click “No” when it asks to completely remove RGSC, because, when I tried to access Multiplayer “LIVE” mode using the game’s cell phone, I got the message “You must be logged into Rockstar Games Social Club to access Multiplayer”. However, when you click “No”, the update will still completely remove RGSC from the Rockstar Games Social Club folder located at C:Program Files (x86)Rockstar Games, but not from the RGSC folder located at C:Program Files (x86)Rockstar GamesGrand Theft Auto IV which is important!! When you click the “Finish” button, the GTA IV game tries to start, as the Razor 1911 logo appears, but the game never starts:
That’s because the update had removed Rockstar Games Social Club application! So, here’s what I did. There is a file called setup.exe located at C:Program Files (x86)Rockstar GamesGrand Theft Auto IVRGSC that modifies or repairs the Rockstar Games Social Club application, so I doubleclicked it and it started the InstallShield Wizard for RGSC:
I selected “Repair” and clicked “Next”, which started the “Updating Rockstar Games Social Club” process:
When the update finished, it brought up the “End User License Agreement”, which you have to click & hold on the right edge of it and scroll all the way to the bottom in order for the “I Accept These Terms” button to activate for you to click on it:
And that brings up the “Join Rockstar Games Social Club” window that you click:
Then you now either log into it, or join it to create an account (if you haven’t before):
That brings up the “Games for Windows – Live” window, now click the “Link Gamertag Now” button:
And that will simultaneously open an Internet Explorer window to http://support.rockstargames.com/categories/10262-social-club and at the same time the “Rockstar Games Social Club” window for starting GTA IV will appear:
And this is how you must start GTA IV when you want to be able to access Multiplayer!!! Remember, before clicking the “PLAY” button make sure you rename the xlive.dll file so that it is “turned off”. DO NOT delete the xlive.dll file as instructed to do in the video! It took searching through several of the numerous games listed to finally find a game with enough players to be able to play the game, and it was great to see everything worked! Oh, and the way the games are listed is NOT how it looked in anonimas321123’s video, but he’s from Germany, so that’s probably why. The other multiplayer option you’ll see when accessing “Multiplayer” in your character’s cellphone is LAN, which is searching for “Local Area Network” games, and the list of GTA mission games were identical to those in LIVE, but after selecting several, I found that no other player but myself was logged in, so I wasn’t able to play any. Oh well, at least I know it works!!! BTW, you can send me an invitation to be a friend to play online, if you want. My I.D. is ChopperBob57. So, there you have it! By “turning off” the xlive.dll file (by renaming it to something else), and starting GTA IV using the RGSC desktop shortcut, I was able to access the game’s online multiplayer functions and start collecting Achievements when playing the missions. Now, all I’ve got to figure out is how to get it to recognize my previously completed missions! So, in summary, the updating to a higher version was very simple. Just run the patch, copy and paste the three crack files into the root directory, and you can start the game and still have all the completed missions you had before updating. If you want to access online multiplayer mode, then “turn off” the xlive.dll file, and start Rockstar Games Social Club to start GTA IV, but remember, you’ll not have any of the missions you completed in the earlier version of GTA IV, and will have to start the game from the very beginning! Finally, as I don’t have a YouTube account, I couldn’t leave a positive comment for anonimas321123, but if you have one, please leave some great comments for anonimas321123, as he created a great video, and provided a link to a working Key Generator. BTW, you’ll also find a
copy of the “keygen GFWL by alexis221515” folder here where you found this document. Open it and you’ll find those two files called xox.reg and keygen GFWL by alexis221515.exe. That should reduce your efforts in having to find and download them! IMPORTANT QUESTIONS ABOUT PLAYING GTA IV I’ve already been playing GTA IV for some time using the Single-Player cracked version, and have a lot of missions already saved. Is there a way I can play both – as Single-Player where I won’t lose any of the completion percentage, and as an Online Multiplayer where I can earn Achievement Awards and play online with other Gamers? Yes you can!!! As I’ve already stated, there are two different directories where the cracked SinglePlayer version saves the completed missions versus the un-cracked Multiplayer version. So, here are the steps to play each one: Single-Player 1. Make sure the xlive.dll file is installed in the game’s root directory, or if you’ve changed its name to run Multiplayer, then rename it back to xlive.dll. NEVER DELETE THIS FILE! 2. Start the game using the LaunchGTAIV.exe desktop shortcut you created. Multiplayer Online 1. Rename the xlive.dll file to something else, such as xlive_off.dll, so that it doesn’t work. 2. Start Rockstar Games Social Club by clicking on its desktop shortcut. 3. Log into your Rockstar Social Club account. (Remember, you should have already created all three accounts required for online Mulitplayer) 4. Once logged into your account, the Rockstar Games Social Club window will appear:
5. Now, start GTA IV by clicking on the “PLAY” button. 6. Once GTA IV has started, you’ll be notified if you’re logged into your Games for Windows – Live account. If you’re not logged in, press the “Home” button on your computer to bring up your Games for Windows – Live menu page and click the “Connect to LIVE” button. The beauty of these two methods is that you can continue to progress in your Single-Player version towards 100%, and join online play with world-wide gamers! Of course, you can choose to ALWAYS play online so you can earn Achievement Awards and post your videos, Awards, & Stats on Rockstar Games Social Club while completing the game’s missions. How do I report a hacker/modder who was using aimbot and other mods in a game of GTA IV, because he just ruins my online experience with this great game? Any players that have modified their hardware or software should be reported to Sony, so please be sure to report their game player id to: http://www.playstation.com Can I increase the dedicated Video RAM on my Laptop? It uses Intel HD Graphics. It might be possible if you are able to access the advanced chipset menus in the bios setup screen. Unfortunately, most stock Toshiba motherboards don’t allow access through the bios. Short answer is no, you can't. The long answer is that if your specs show your video card uses 64MB-1696MB of dynamically assigned RAM, for example, this means your video card automatically uses some of your system (CPU) RAM for your video/graphics card. So, as the video demands increase, your computer automatically assigns more system RAM to your graphics card. This will be a minimum of 64MB to a maximum of 1696MB. Your video card has no dedicated video RAM, no VRAM, of its own. This severely impacts the performance of the card. As well, you have an Intel graphics chip, integrated into an Intel chipset, which is integrated into your motherboard. So, there's no way to upgrade your graphics capabilities. To see what your card is using at any one time, go to your desktop, right click on a blank part of the screen, left click on 'Screen resolution', and click on 'Advanced settings'. At the bottom of the 'Adapter' tab, in 'Adapter information', you will see your video card's memory breakdown. Can I play GTA IV on my PC or Laptop that uses Intel HD Graphics integrated chip? YES!!!!!! Although, you won’t be able to set GTA IV’s Graphics Options to their highest settings, you’ll still be able to play it with decent graphics. Open, read, and follow the steps outlined in my document, Optimizing GTA IV for use with Intel HD Graphics GPU. GTA IV is running nicely on my Toshiba Satellite P775-S7320 laptop, which has Intel HD 3000 GPU graphics chip that only has 64 Mb of dedicated video memory! I run Windows 7 Home Premium with 2 nd Generation Core i7, and 6 GB CPU RAM. So, take heart, as you can run GTA IV!!! Those with 3rd Generation Intel Core series CPU and using Windows 8 will find updating to version 1.0.7.0 is best before applying my optimization steps!
